A former army officer who specialises in anti-bribery and anti-money laundering investigations and unearthing employee frauds is lending a helping hand to companies keep a check on and unearth a variety of frauds. Bengaluru-based Colonel Sanganagouda Dhawalgi now heads the forensics practice for Netrika Consulting.
A global advisor for Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) and the President ACFE chapter at Bangalore, he is an expert investigator who brings in wealth of earlier experience from the defence services and corporate world. His expertise in handling matters related to procurement frauds, investigative interviewing and dispute resolution drives the business for Netrika Consulting.
With two and a half decades in the Indian Army, of which 16 years were spent in Military Intelligence, he speaks extensively across professional bodies on forensic issues that concern the industry. Before joining Netrika to lead the forensics team, Colonel Dhawalgi was part of the forensics team at PricewaterhouseCoopers for six years and headed the practice for South India. He has earlier worked for EY and Fidelity Business Services in different roles.
He is a winner of President’s Gold Medal from the Officers Training Academy for being first in order of merit and best officer commissioned from his batch. He is a professional intelligencer from the Corps of Military Intelligence of the Indian Army.
He has earned his post graduate MBA from IIT Kharagpur and is the certified Lead Auditor of ISO 27001.Dhawalgi, as he is popularly known, is also the author of ‘Deceit Detection & Interrogation’, which is in restricted circulation with military and police organisations. While working on his passion around forensics, he is writing a second book for the industry, ‘Guide to Investigative Interviewing Techniques’ – a first by an Indian author in the domain.
He has wide social circle which keeps him busy in the evenings and holidays. He works for under-privileged and down trodden as hobby during his spare time.
